The folks behind the outstanding The Great War have just launched a new multi-part documentary on the Real Time History Channel: Glory & Defeat: The Franco-Prussian War (1870-71).
The war will be covered in "real time", on a week-by-week basis. It's going to be terrific! Here's the introductory video:

I actually met Indy on a baseball forum long time ago. Hell of a nice guy. He was on the forum when he started Watch Sunday Baseball. That was a good show, very nicely done and stuff off the beaten path. I heard 3 million stories about Babe Ruth but only one about Jack Nabors, 1-25. my wife's cat is a better pitcher. So I caught The Great War from the 2nd episode on. Highlight of my Saturdays

Wondering what you think of the War Against Humanity sub series. I’ve seen a lot of things about the Holocaust. Shoah, Einsaztgruppen (sp), Third Reich, Inside the SS. But I’m not sure I’ve seen anything that kicks you in the guts like this. Spartacus Olson really pulls no punches
