I posted the same notice on the History board and didn't get any response either. I was particularly interested because Billy the Kid looms so large in the history of New Mexico which has been my home state for the last 6+ years.
The 6-mil was the highest ever paid at auction for a firearm. The previous record for a firearm was $1.98 million, set by Christie’s in 2002 for a pair of flintlock saddle pistols carried by George Washington during the Revolutionary War that were gifts from his friend and ally the Marquis de Lafayette.
