What part of Vancouver will you be staying in? There are a number of great places to choose from, but the city covers a lot of territory. There's good nightlife (clubs, bars and the like) to be found in a historic part of town called Gastown. There are also many major hotels that have their own bars and whatnot. There is a section called Yale Town which has many great bars and restaurants. There's a street called Robson Street that is full of shops and restaurants, bars, clubs, nightlife, etc. There's a famous historic Chinatown section that's well worth visiting. Also a section of town called Little Punjab, or the Punjabi Market, which has several good ethnic Indian restaurants.
I would definitely get online and, using your hotel location as a starting point, just start Googling different bars and restaurants located in the general proximity of the hotel. But I would definitely consider visiting Robson Street, Gas Town and Yale Town if you are staying right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Those are pretty much within walking distance of most of the major hotels there. Little Punjab you'd have to take a bus or taxi.

I'll definitely do some research into the area and I always find some good spots everywhere I go, but figured I'd reach out for some personal recs too. Thanks for the suggestions!!
