Tales from the Hood and Body Bags are both really fun, underrated anthology flicks from the Tales from the Crypt era. Seen those. I really dislike the Tobe Hooper segment of Body Bags, but all the John Carpenter stuff is fun. Tales from the Hood I actually watched all the way back in the mid-1990s when I was a teenager. Ah, I thought the Hooper segment got fun once Mark Hammil started really losing his sh*t.

The issue for me is that I don't think Hooper was a very good director and the segment just ends up being very boring because of that. Once in a while he directed movies I like, but most of his movies just fall flat for me. His only movie I think is decent since 1986 is Toolbox Murders.

The 4.1 rating is what put me off of From Dusk Till Dawn 2. How much Robert Patrick in the movie? I watched The Prophecy 2 and 3 yesterday. Surprised Christopher Walken kept starring in them. I certainly don't agree with that rating. Patrick is the lead. Even the third is okay. Never saw those. You've seen the first two Wishmasters, right? Dopey movies, but worth watching for the ridiculous deaths and the main guy's scene chewing. I just watched it. I don't either agree with the 4.1 rating either. It is a bad movie, but it deserves a higher rating than 4.1.

Here's 10 random suggestions :
'Def By Temptation' (1990)
'Cast A Deadly Spell' (1991) 'Cronos' (1993)
'Aswang' (1994) 'Cemetery Man' (1994) 'Nadja' (1994) 'The Addiction' (1995) 'The Day Of The Beast' (1995) 'The Night Flier' (1997) 'Ravenous' (1999)
Hopefully these are relatively obscure movies you might enjoy if not seen already. I purposefully avoided selecting any titles I like that I think you'd probably not rate at all. Actually, I don't like 'Cemetery Man' but I'm not a big fan of the director's work after his first feature-length horror movie.
A black and white arthouse vampire movie starring Martin Donovan and Peter Fonda and a cameo from David Lynch. I am liking it so far.

I like Martin Donovan's work with filmmaker Hal Hartley.

The Dark Half…based on a Stephen King story about an authors pen name who comes to life and begins slaughtering people. Especially if you enjoyed Malignant, check this out.
Dellamorte Dellamorte aka The Cemetary Man…I remember watching it years ago for the bewbs. An amazing rack. Don’t remember the story but worth it for that.
Event Horizon…probably have seen it if you’ve come this far but just in case. Sci fi horror haunted house vibes…great cast and good sfx for it’s time.
Screamers…More sci fi than horror but I have to mention it because one scene in particular legitimately scares me. It’s really good at building the tension there too. But like I said, the horror isn’t the focus.

But like I said, the horror isn’t the focus. I have seen those and am only a fan of Cemetery Man. The Dark Half is a movie with a good concept that is poorly done imo. Same with Event Horizon. The latter starts out interesting and just becomes a generic haunted spaceship movie. I wouldn't call either of those movies obscure though. I barely remember Screamers. Didn't care for it when I watched it, but that was over 20 years ago and I was probably 14 at the time.

Nadja is one of the best horror movies of the 1990s imo. Good stuff. Peter Fonda as a bicycle riding Van Helsing is fun. A nice eccentric deadpan performance. It reminds me of a Jim Jarmusch movie

Popcorn There's Nothing Out There Waxwork II When a Stranger Calls Back Trauma/The Stendhal Syndrome Demon Knight Copycat Phantasm 3/4 From Dusk Till Dawn 2 Idle Handshave to watch Phantasm II, before I get to 3 and 4. I've never heard of There's Nothing Out There. I'll check on that. Don't rush. Watched the whole franchise as part of the Horror Challenge. Generally, shite.
