One of the greatest child actors in Hollywood history, and a fine actor as an adult. Iβve been dreading this, knowing that he had health problems later in life. R.I.P.

I have just started re-watching Quantum Leap this very month. Seems even more appropriate to be watching it now.
According to reports, he died peacefully in his sleep. A nice way to go.
RIP Mr. Stockwell. Your interactions with Scott Bakula on QL were a joy to behold.

Wasn't Dean Stockwell already dead? Thinking this as well. I could've sworn I read about his death some years ago.

Count me in as a Stockwell fan. Born in 1936, he made his stage debut at the age of 7 in a Theatre Guild production of Paul Osborn's, The Innocent Voyage and was signed to an MGM contract in 1945 where he quickly became a sought after child star. He appeared in three Best Picture Oscar-Nominated movies and received a Golden Globe Award for his work in Gentleman's Agreement, but never won the Oscar for Best Actor. His 204 film and television appearances between 1945 and 2015, include Song of the Thin Man, Compulsion, Long Day's Journey Into Night, Air Force One and Star Trek: Enterprise. Stockwell was one of only a few actors remaining from the Golden Age of Hollywood, having worked with some of the Greatest Stars in the industry, Orson Welles, Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Gregory Peck. The Secret Garden with Margaret O'Brien. Blue Velvet as Cool Ben, a reptilian performance designed to make the skin crawl.
