Is there a worse Football movie than this ? It's an absolute debacle. The acting , the casting, the execution. It's just a bad fucking movie.

It's better than most sports themed movies if you ask me.

Johnny Be Good? The Longest Yard remake? Concussion? AGS was pretty ridiculous though. Jamie Foxx was painfully bad and those team names and uniforms were awful. They were like something a third rate college team would have. A west coast college team.

Not the worst. But it is a mediocre movie. Impressive cast though.

Not the worst. But it is a mediocre movie. Impressive cast though. Al Pacino as a football coach? Even James Woods seems out of place. Ok..maybe I'll buy Quaid as an aging QB and LL cool J as a RB. But Bill Bellamy as a wide receiver ? U gotta be kidding.

I thought Pacino's performance was greatly underappreciated

I love it. It's over the top (nobody mentioned the eyeball on the field yet?), but intentionally so. Every major character in the story is in a transitional period, it's fantastic human conflict. Pacino is amazing. This role is screaming with potential for overacting but Pacino never goes there. Pacino doesn't overact in this flick! Team names and uniforms are always dopey in movies, so that criticism is pointless.
To each their own but I thoroughly enjoy this movie.

Actually those shitty uniforms may have been predicting the horrible thursday night football color rush uniforms. Damn those things are awful. Then again almost everything about the thursday night games are terrible.
