My favourite is either "Silk Stockings" or "The Band Wagon". Which is your favourite?

Those are good, but I like Daddy Long Legs best.

I have seen 27 Fred Astaire feature films ... I would categorize only 3 as being VERY Good (7+ Rating)
01 Holiday Inn (1942) 02 The Gay Divorcee (1934) 03 Swing Time (1936)

The Band Wagon is my favorite Astaire film, bar none. And I always laugh at the "Triplets" number!

The Band Wagon is my favorite Astaire film, bar none. And I always laugh at the "Triplets" number! Oh I had seen that as a kid, back when I didn't understand English! Saw it last week and busted out laughing at the very unPC lyrics! Something about want to point a gun and shoot the others? LOL! My favorite was the film noir dance number. I LOVE how men talk in film noir! I posted the lines up above. Yes, the lines to "Triplets" are hilarious. "How I wish I had a gun. A widdle gun. Then I could shoot the other two, and I would be just one!"

Here's one of my favorite Fred Astaire movies (one which most people forget to mention): Funny Face! Maybe it's because people think of that one as an Audrey Hepburn movie?
But I absolutely agree about The Band Wagon. One of my all-time favorite musicals, period. Top Hat, Swing Time, and The Gay Divorcee are also way up there.

My favourite is either "Silk Stockings" or "The Band Wagon". Which is your favourite? The Band Wagon....possibly the best musical of all time, with or without Fred Astaire.

Personal favorite "The Band Wagon".
But one shouldn't forget that he introduced many great songs by Irving Berlin, Gershwin brothers and Cole Porter among others that he swooned and danced from the Fred and Ginger era, Those songs are classics in any era, but as a film The Band Wagon is my favorite.
