So I am mid second sesson of the Witcher and I found it pretty bad so far. Decline in both storytelling as well as worldbuilding...
too much talking not enough monster slaying, talking too convoluted not enough humor or sexiness.
Whats up with that? Season 1 was much better.
what does everyone else thinks?

I remember enjoying the first, but I honestly can't remember a lot of what happened. I've heard Yennifer is much worse in this season. Which sucks, I really liked her.

I'm at Episode 3 and no one has been singing yet, so I guess it's better Or maybe I'm just jealous of that lute… I enjoyed puzzling out the timelines in the first season but felt the world and characters were coarse caricatures which doesn't seem to be changing. If the show shifts its priorities there at the cost of the dumb spectacle and silly humour it did well, I can see it become a problem. The dialogue was never good.

I'm on episode 3 and I'm finding this season far easier to digest than the first one. As the Geralt and Ciri story collapsed into one and there is no jumping between different timelines, I think this is flowing much better.

I moved on to Ep.4 and events took a suddenly very serious turn. That thing is probably badly out of tune now:

Finished it today....a solid season that pushed more actual plot rather than a monster of the week type thing that the first season mostly did. Altho ill be honest im not sure which kind of show id prefer. All in all I enjoy a lot about it and have fairly minor gripes.

Over all i like the Netflix adaption of the Witcher, even if i don`t like some of the changes they made from the book.
Some of the changes i am fine with, and some of the changes i hate. But overall i don`t hate the show.
Some of the changes i felt was just done to create unnecessary drama. Like the change they did in season 1, where Yennefer got mad when she found out Geralt wish, in the book she knew all a long and did not get mad.

Come Episode 6, monsters keep getting more terrible: At this point the writing is properly horrifying. People appear to be moving at will to places and bump into each other out of sheer plot convenience. Villains get unhindered to their victims with no explanation, the dialogue is worse than ever and explanations are simply delivered by people reading them out of books. Is this turning into the worst TV show ever?

I guess my main problem is all the talking and not enough Yennefer. I dont usually mind dialogue heavy movies/shows (I mean I LOVE Aaron Sorkins stuff) but here it just doesnt click for me. Maybe because season 1 was different that way, it was more action than talking about action and history? the world building is So complex here that yeah I see they kinda have to talk a lot, but still, I would have preferred more monsters, action, even personal dramas like they had in Season 1 - Yennefers plot line in particular was really interesting and full of tension. Here, it seems much weaker. Also, is it just me or do they swear MUCH more than in season 1? Watching elves saying F this F that is not really my cup of tea either..
