That’s literally one of Batman’s nicknames.

I know that Batman is sometimes referred to as "the World's Greatest Detective" but I've never thought of him as a detective. I have never seen him use the methods that are normally associated with detective work - looking for clues, interpreting them, interviewing suspects, and so on. Maybe he does in his comic books, with which I was never very familiar even back in the days when I used to read comic books.

That’s literally one of Batman’s nicknames. WHY ? He (and Superman) are both classic crime fighters but they are not detectives !

Sherlock Holmes born January 6, 1864 in the North Riding of Yorkshire. His father was Siger Holmes, his mother Violet Sherringford. According to Sherlockian scholar William S. Baring-Gould, Holmes died on his 93rd birthday, January 6, 1957 in Sussex where he had retired. But many (including yours truly) believe that his years in retirement keeping and studying bees lead him to isolate an enzyme from the queen bee that has given him near immortality and he is still working at his craft behind the scenes to preserve Democratic government and, as best as can be done, peace.
I never thought of Batman as much of a detective. He doesn't really do much detecting, does he?

Sherlock Holmes, followed closely by Hercule Poirot.
And between them and any other contenders, there's plenty of daylight.
And while Batman is one of my favourite crime fighters and superheroes, he's simply not in the same league as Holmes or Poirot.

Sherlock. Or maybe his younger brother. Really? I thought Sherlock Holmes has only one sibling, an older brother called, "Mycroft". And from what I've read about and seen of Mycroft, he was more than a match for his younger brother.

Batman did a lot of detective work in the 1960s TV series.

You've never heard of Sigerson Holmes? I've heard of the film title... In fact, I'm pretty sure I've had it stored on HDD for the better part of a decade... I've just never gotten around to watching it.

You've never heard of Sigerson Holmes? Correction... I just checked my word document and I actually own the DVD. However, I've no idea of exactly when I bought it, but it must've been at some point before 2010.
