Live action films, specifically.......so, NOT referring to movies that are ALL CGI content, Disney's Pixar films being a prime example.

Iβm generally like a magpie for it. But that doesnβt mean Iβll accept cgi heavy stuff that looks awful or just unnecessary like Green Lantern or Gods of Egypt.

It depends on the movie, but I prefer practical effects.
It is more the knowing that the actors are just in a room and everything else is cgi that is most bothersome, even if many times you can't tell that the background is cgi. I'd want to complain about Zodiac, but it is blended so seamlessly. If I didn't know many of the backgrounds were added in with computer I would not have guessed.

Too much can be overwhelming and make everything feel artificial. I tend to prefer real sets and practical effects with CGI filled in where it has to be.

I like it when it's done well. I liked Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets' CGI for example. Even if the movie itself could have been a bit better on the whole. I like good practical effects too, but they have their limitations. Maybe somebody will find a way to film practical effects in space and that will expand the possibilities somewhat but for now, CGI seems to be less creatively compromising than make up and stop motion overall.

Glad I don't watch BTS scenes anymore, they just ruin CGI for me.

Depends. I tend to prefer more practical effects and sets but if the CGI is needed for some things, I'm okay with it.

Special effects should enhance the story, not be the story.

If it's seamlessly done and not distracting, it's fine.
But then again, I don't watch too many current films that rely on CGI.
