A brief history of the case: In 1953, the bodies of two boys (initially believed to be a boy and a girl) were found some years after they'd been murdered. They'd been bludgeoned with the dull side of a hatchet. The bodies had been covered with a woman's fur coat and a woman's shoe was found at the scene. People would later recall seeing a woman and man walking in the park, with the woman looking upset and wearing only one shoe. The case went cold, and many thought it would never be solved. Recently, due to genetic genealogy, police were finally able to identify the dead boys. They were brothers David and Derek D'Alton, who would've been approximately 7 and 6 years old respectively. It is believed that their mother took part in their murder. The stories I've read haven't included a theory about who the man was in the park with their mother that day. The boys had an older sister who'd been told the boys had been taken away by the authorities. Unfortunately, the murderous mother died in 1996, so she was never punished. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babes_in_the_Wood_murders_(Stanley_Park)

I read this on a true crime blog... Really despicable. And it's a shame she'll see no punishment. I don't get how someone could kill another person... Let alone a child. I feel bad if I accidentally run over a Lizard.
