I don't want to hate on a show I'm starting the thread for, so I'll just say I'm clearly not the target audience for this one. I'll pass.

The character original comic run was aimed towards a more teen demographic. Honestly it makes sense that the show follows that route.
I think it looks decent enough. Not too crazy about them changing her powers from Inhuman origin to alien tech.

Not too crazy about them changing her powers from Inhuman origin to alien tech. One would think most superhero comics were aimed primarily at children, but I know what you're saying. I never read anything with this character, but I had a feeling this show wasn't going to interest me. I also don't understand the change from powers to tech, they must not be ready to reintroduce Inhumans yet.

Specifically teenage Muslim girls.

It looks like fun. But as you say it does look more geared toward kids/teens...so I don't know for sure if it will be my cup of tea but im willing to give it a shot. From what i know of Kamala Khan I enjoy her character.

good lord Feige and the MCU are well past the point of jumping the shark . I knew there was a Captain Marvel character but wasn't aware there was a Ms. Marvel character as well (I guess I shouldn't have been surprised though since Marvel has been giving the green light to even the most D list of their lame super hero characters) I'm very thankful that I don't have a Disney + account (I could only stomach a couple of episodes of Hawkeye while over at my friends place and couldn't imagine actually paying my hard earned money to view any of that goofy kiddie shit

Wow. I just can't... wow.
These MCU D+ shows... I remember being so excited for them when they were first announced. And now I don't think I've ever been as disappointed with any show as I have been for these.

It seems a bit weird that they changed her powers so drastically, but I guess the big stretchy hands would look pretty weird in live action, on top of being difficult to animate. Still, going from Mr. Fantastic to Green Lantern is a huge shift.

The MCU is dead.

I was thinking about this too and I thought of a few reasons that I've not confirmed anywhere but possible explanations on changing her power set and origin... 1. Because they're making a Fantastic Four film and don't want to introduce an elastic girl so close to introducing Mr. Fantastic, into the MCU. 2. Wasn't sure who owned the Inhuman rights as i believe her powers stem from the terrigen mists which are under the Inhuman umbrella. 3. Having her powers come from Kree tech could lead to the arrival of the Kree on Earth and perhaps a feud with the Skrulls down the line. Just some thoughts but yea i also wondered why theyd change her origins and powers.

Still, going from Mr. Fantastic to Green Lantern is a huge shift. If they can't do elasticity they're going to have a problem when it's time to make the Fantastic Four. Even though the effects weren't great, they did elasticity in The Flash.

Well stylistically it looks a bit new, unless that's just trailer editing. I don't really have a whole lot to say beyond that, the character has never appealed to me and any story I have read with them in it hasn't been of very good quality, the most I have enjoyed this character was in The Avengers video game from Square Enix.

Has the Muslim backlash begun yet? Because it’s likely. Especially with the depiction of a Muslim girl fraternising with boys.
A Muslim superhero group has been tried with ‘The 99’. That met with controversy from the Muslim world and is pretty much dead now.

There was a time where if you said that on this board you were branded a troll and reported with the expectation that you would be banned 😂

If Reed had already been introduced, they might let her do something similar. But with such a fan favorite still waiting to make his MCU debut, they weren't going to let a minor character steal his thunder.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if hundreds of voices suddenly cried out in terror and are making clickbait videos.

I was 100% done with these DisneyFlix things after Loki. This one is clearly geared towards a very young audience so I know I’m not missing anything personally.
Though, I think it’s good they changed her powers. She’ll fit in better in The Marvels storyline if her origin involves Kree tech or alien gizmo thingies.

brie larson was utterly incredible in Short Term 12 and Room (well deserved Oscar nom) and has a million dollar smile but jfc talk about a cringe worthy tweet (I won't fault her acting in Captain Marvel because there has honestly never been a potentially award winning performance within the MCU despite all the A List talent they've assembled after all these days) As of right now, the MCU's most popular & biggest box office draw is a little annoying spazzy little twink looking twerp with ADHD that was bitten by a radioactive spider (meanwhile, WB/DC has a complete fearless badass that doesn't give an F and best known to beat tons of bad guys into a bloody pulp to the point they aren't even able to move. Oh and not to mention he doesn't live with his Aunt and doesn't have to rely on waiting on taking a school bus for transportation
