Castlevania II simon's quest. And Metroid (the golden age of video games). In other words games that are cryptic. But not so much so that it's too hard to figure things out. They have the right balance of cypticness. What are the other examples that you know? Besides ones that have link in them. In other words they have things that could easily take the average person like 6 months to find something or figure out something.
That's how you know a game is good, it takes 6 months.
Too bad developers don't know how to make games like this anymore. They know how to remake older games and make them too easy and then they suck. I know that.
Yea, I know this topic is lame.

A great game should be easy to learn but hard to master. I'm just more into games like Tetris or Chess than Castlevania II.
