I wonder if Gunn is doing something like Suicide Squad 3 or Gotham City Sirens? If they do GCS, they could maybe throw Leslie Grace a bone and let her be in it.

Man of Steel 2 with Henry Cavill gets a very promising update as a new report states that Warner Bros. is looking for a writer for the DCEU sequel.

This news is a part of a larger DC piece detailing the franchise's future, but longtime DC producer Charles Roven is on the project and apparently, WB has a director wishlist. THR highlights that Mission: Impossible’s Christopher McQuarrie is on that list.

I was thinking about this too. Witcher will have at least 2 seasons coming up soon, and I bet we’re getting a third Sherlock Holmes. Netflix has been good to him

Given the way things are going WBD should just embrace the inevitable and announce Dwayne Johnson (and his management team) as head of DC films/ DCEU's Kevin Feige.

A new report suggests Warner Bros. exec Toby Emmerich prevented Henry Cavill's long-awaited return as Superman following 2017's Justice League:
Citing a "very highly placed source," film pundit Robert Meyer Burnett explained the issues began when the studio attempted to get Cavill to appear in 2019's Shazam! for a brief cameo. The actor's manager said, "If he appeared in a cameo as Superman, that would count as one of Henry Cavill’s contracted appearances in a movie as Superman." This was not received well by the studio. Specifically, former Warner Bros. Pictures chairman Toby Emmerich, who is said to have responded, "Henry Cavill is now persona non grata, he's not gonna play ball with the studio? He will never be Superman again."

Warner Bros. Discovery will take a hit of between $1.3 billion and $1.6 billon in pre-tax restructuring charges for the third quarter ended in September as part of the ongoing merge of its operations, primary from content write-downs. It said in an SEC filing it plans to complete its restructuring initiatives by the end of 2024 with total charges coming in between $3.2 and $4.3 billion. That includes “strategic content programming assessments” leading to content and development write-offs of approximately $2 to $2.5 billion. The charges, which also include organization restructuring, facility consolidation activities and other contract termination costs, is part of the merged company’s plan to achieve significant $3 billion cost synergies it promised Wall Street. deadline.com/2022/10/warner-bros-discovery-restructuring-charges-merger-1235153772/

Seems like a reasonable expectation on Cavill's part. Emmerich was an asswipe.

when they said they wanted to be the MCU, they weren’t kidding. Think they bring Whedon back too?

So, originally, they put in charge an edge lord with the sensibilities of a teenager (Zach Snyder). It fails. Now, as a course correction, they put in charge… another edge lord with the sensibilities of a teenager. Wonderful.
