1) What do you like about the character Superman, in general?
2) What is it that you didn't like about the movie Man of Steel?
Just curious to see the differences

1. His high morality. His humbleness and respect for justice and the American way.
2. Just about everything. The music, the casting, the plot.

I have naturally always loved the character since I was baby and toddler when I used to watch Bruce Timm’s Superman: The Animated Series on Kids WB!/Cartoon Network. I also had and still have a Bruce Timm’s Justice League Superman action figure that meant a lot to me as a kid.
But…yeah…I love Superman’s wholesome personality and how he inspires hope, patriotism and trust and I love how moral Clark Kent is and how he always tries to the right thing and he is who I inspire myself be like.

Cavill isn’t tall enough IMO.

Cavill is 6 foot 2 and was considered for James Bond you don't get invited to an interview with Bond bosses if you're Peter Dinklage he is definitely tall enough. Amy Adams is actually the miscast one in all of this she's dowdy and plain.

1. I like the character for being dependable. He is old fashioned values. Hope. When everyone else is running around in terror, Supes is "Don't worry. I got this."
2. Man of Steel was hiding. Don't help others. Grim. Snyder doesn't understand the character.

There's a lot of cringy dialogue in Man of Steel. I can't say it makes me feel anything either.

Just curious to see the differences 1)Honestly, as a kid I wasn't into him, but as an adult I love that he's hopeful and that he is honest-to-goodness doing the right thing because it's the right thing. He is a little square, a bit simple in theory, but an amazing I guess allegory but also a character you can turn to in turbulent times, for a little comfort.
2)Most of my complaints are nickpicky type things, nothing major. The fight scene at the end was a little long, but as someone who does martial arts, I can say that Clark never so much as threw a punch in his life before this, and now he's dealing with a crazed dude who was bred for war, trained for war, experienced in fighting, could actually hurt Clark, and could match him in speed/flying/etc., so I think Clark was out of his depth with someone who wanted to cause as much destruction as possible. Still, scene is a little too long and too CGI. But MAN OF STEEL is the thing that turned me into a Superman fan.

1. I love Superman's never ending optimism and down-to-earth, farm-boy personality which completely contrasts with his extreme powerset.
2. Movie never showed Superman's optimism and down-to-earth, likeable personality. Heck, I think the movie only allowed him to smile twice or something. MOS tried to make Clark Kent into this mopey, brooding, heavily conflicted character and that just ruined his arc. Snyder tried to make him Batman... and that just didn't work. Also, extreme pacing issues (just like most Snyder movies) and Amy Adams was miscast as Lois.

To be fair, Cavill wasn't Snyder's first choice to play Superman. It was supposed to be Joe Manganiello (who stands 6'5") but Manganiello had scheduling conflicts with True Blood. Personally, I would have liked a Manganiello Superman and Cavill Batman combo.

Superman was created in a different era. The one Captain America came out of.

1) When they emphasize the man over the super.
2) That it emphasized the super over the man. And it was just so dreary.

1. I actually like that he's good and doesn't need a "dark side" to be a badass.
2. Didn't like Clark letting his father die and I think the third act is not very good.
