THR states that the frustration comes from "the lack of delivery from the deal that was signed back in September 2019 after Abrams and Bad Robot met with suitors including Apple as they shopped for a rich new pact."
Abrams has been attached to a number of DC projects.

WB is stupid af for even getting involved with that hack. Jar Jar Abrams has waaaaay too much power in Hollywood. Its bad enough that this little talentless twerp over sees Star Trek AND Star Wars. I don't want him anywhere near any DC projects of ANY kind (especially Green fuckin Lantern!)

The only one of the new ST movies I really disliked was the one directed by Justin Lin. Now there's a talentless hack.

I think streamers in general need to rethink their "let's just throw hundreds of millions of dollars at people" method. For example, I really liked Knives Out, but splashing $200m just to bring Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig onboard (and that doesn't even include the cost of actually making the movies) is insanity.

Plus the $50 million they spent buying that Emily Blunt movie.
