Napolean Dynamite was a huge hit that came out of now where and propelled Jon Heder to stardom. He couldn't really find much success outside of that.

I kinda feel like Sam Worthington was one, but maybe not.

I think some of those are kind of unfair.

I think some of those are kind of unfair. I like how the author tries to diminish the actors' other work to justify putting them on the list. They even point out other successful projects and say things like, "She was on 75 episodes, but there were better shows on tv," or, "Yeah he voiced one of the most iconic animated characters of all time, but you couldn't see him."

Christopher Reeve as Superman? I know it's become more than one film with him but it's his most well-known and perhaps his only well-known role. I don't recall any of his other movies being hits.

I thought of him too. I think in his case though, it was really his choice. He turned down the lead in a lot of huge movies (The World According to Garp, Romancing the Stone etc.) to do smaller, lesser-known films.

Just dismissing Mark Hamill's voicework as Joker is really annoying.

Somewhere in Time is quite well-known. I don't feel like it is though. What are you defining as one hit wonder? Somewhere in Time is a well-rated movie, with 30,000 votes on IMDB and Christopher Reeve is the lead character. Maybe I am being biased just because I am very aware of the movie.

I simply hardly hear anyone talk about it, at least from my experience. Guess I'm not as cultured as I thought I was.

There is actually an American Dad episode that is a parody of that movie. It is a cross parody of Somewhere in Time and Back to the Future.

What about Saved by the Bell? That was a TV show and it led to her securing a role in Showgirls. Showgirls perhaps ruined her career. If she avoided that role who knows where she may have ended up. It's gone down as a bit of a cult classic.
