Imagine being a new fan and trying to catch up on the movies and shows. Imagine being an 8 year old boy just getting into the MCU. Actually, an 8 year old boy could do it. Imagine being a 20 year old woman. No fucking way they could.
It's nearly impossible to break into the Fandom now, but after Phase 5 and 6? No way. At some point they gotta reboot, right? At some point Disney is going to want to cash in on Iron Man and Captain America again.

People binge watch stuff like crazy. I have no idea how they do it, but they find a way. Anyway, you don't have to watch every single movie/show to be able to follow what's going on currently. It's just like comic books, everyone jumps in somewhere.

It's really all going to come down to whether or not the MCU is financially stable in the next 5 years. IF the movies keep making a profit at the Box-office, then yeah this franchise is going to keep going.
But once the films start flopping one after another then we will probably see the end of it. Or at least a reboot attempt by Disney.

Could you imagine if this did went on past the Multiverse Saga? Like they get all the way up to like phase 30?
Imagine how many hours of content that would be.

I think it’ll eventually become the thing kids watch with their dads, but not necessarily something they seek out on their own or with friends.

With Disney at the helm? I'm pretty sure they'll keep it chugging way past its due date. Just look at how they're now rebooting their old animated movies into live action ones. Look at how they keep pumping out Star Wars shows despite increasingly divisive feedback. Disney is clearly in this for the money, and the MCU is one of its biggest money-makers.

I've been with the MCU since the beginning, but I know what it's like to be a fan of other franchises, drop in during the middle, then catch up because I wanted to. The first ever episode of Doctor Who I watched was with Matt Smith as the Doctor. I went back and watched the whole thing up until that point and stuck with it ever since. When there's a will there's a way.

I've never really kept up with Dr. Who or Star Trek so I tried to start watching them from the beginning (because you need stuff like these to beef up your geek credentials)... but I couldn't get past more than a few episodes. Those first seasons feel way too dated nowadays and for someone who has no nostalgic memories of the shows to lean on, they just couldn't hook me in. I feel like, 10 years from now, a casual viewer might not have enough drive to go through the MCU movies from the start. Heck, even now I already know of some people who can't quite keep up with all the MCU shows.

Probably not, but there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight at the moment.

I feel like, 10 years from now, a casual viewer might not have enough drive to go through the MCU movies from the start. Heck, even now I already know of some people who can't quite keep up with all the MCU shows. It was practically love at first sight when I saw the Doctor's companion, Karen Gillan (who went on to play Nebula in the MCU, no less). That helped, but the episode I wandered into by accident happens to be one of their best, so it was a bit of luck on my side too.
I'm a private nerd for the most part. Certain things just click with me.
I can't keep up with the MCU shows. Life's too short. I only watched Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of such and such last week. I haven't seen Chang Chi, and I haven't watched a single episode of Hawkeye, Moonlight or Ms Marvel, and that's good, because eventually I will (probably) and when I do, I won't feel rushed. Every episode of every Star Trek series I've seen has been within the last decade, and the majority of those episodes have been in the past few years.
I think a badass modern TV helps the quality enormously, especially with the oldest shows and movies, but I can almost guarantee the episodes are even better now than they were when they aired because they're not competing to be current, and that lets me see them for something more than they are in hindsight. I like watching things after the dust settles because trying to keep up with the content or even other fans can be an absolute zoo, and like I said, private nerd over here.

Seriously the tv shows are absolutely what is going to kill this franchise. Even a lot of the fans don’t want to be required to watch a bunch of mediocre low budget 6 episode tv shows every damn month to keep up on the saga. It’s fucking ridiculous at this point.

I do feel like they are over doing it with the shows. I understand that Disney wants more exclusive content for Disney+, but i wish more money and effort was put into creating more original stuff than just leeching off of Marvel and even Star Wars popularity.

I was okay with it when I thought they wouldn’t be essential- Like if they do things like Guardians Christmas Special or a Dora Milaje show- Fine. But I don’t wanna learn that I have to watch all these to understand Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars. That would be a point of no return for me.

My main issue with it is that they're now doing big comic storylines and cramming it into a 6 episodes tv show. Secret Invasion and Armor Wars should be a film, not a TV series. I'm fine with them making a Daredevil tv series and exploring the street level of the Marvel Universe. But the bigger storylines should have been saved for the films. It's one thing if they are going to expand on the impact by incorporating elements of it in other shows, but knowing how Marvel been doing these shows Secret Invasion is going to be wrapped up quickly and probably forgotten.

I can't picture it still going a million years from now. I'd say no.
It will go on until I am dead? Maybe.

Agreed. I also just don’t think the tv format works all that well with Marvel stuff (or Star Wars). I wish it had remained a cinematic universe only.
