Yes, but…
He was about to be in two movies that had a good chance of flopping, and tied into a new DCEU canon that probably wouldn’t have been anymore popular than the original one.
As I said on the other thread if they cancel Flash too they could bring him back to do what they should have done in the first place: make a Burtonverse Batman Beyond where he’s the star.

I feel bad for anyone who worked on this. What a waste of time.

I feel bad for anyone who worked on this. What a waste of time. They got paid though. I’d be happy to make fake movie no one would see for a few million bucks.

Not everyone who works on these projects make good money though. A lot of people in the industry live pay check to pay check. I guess it doesn’t matter too much as long they were compensated. I like seeing the fruit of my labour though, and knowing how it did.

The reason I specifically mentioned Keaton is think about it like this: Keaton was probably called in to be the Batman of the DCEU. It’s a role he hadn’t played in years and he was basically gonna be in not one, but 2 movies where he got to play Batman again. Only to then find out for your not getting to do that anymore.
I’d be very upset in a situation like that. Why would I even want to work with DC/WB again after that?

They only got paid what was in the production budget. They won’t make any money from streaming revenue now. If I worked on the film, I’d feel like I was ripped off.

Their careers could’ve been tanked by it.

Even if the movie wasn’t great, I doubt it would’ve been anymore damaging to people’s careers than something like the first Suicide Squad.

No? I feel a lot more bad for Leslie Grace. And Brendan Fraser. Fans were excited to see this as part of the "Brenaissance", as well as seeing Keaton back as Bruce Wayne again, so I imagine even if the movie had been so-so on quality/script/etc. that fans would have gone to see it and then got the DVD/digital copy when it came out because Fraser and Keaton. Now, both men (And a lot of others) put in all this work and spent their time on it- which also means they increased their Covid risk going out to fly to the locations, film, and such- all for a product that will rot on a shelf.

Was he paid a flat fee or a % of the gross ? Either way it's gotta be more than he might get flipping burgers or being most anything else but a key sports figure, popular singer, movie star or corrupt politician.

Came back for Flash and Batgirl, and it's been a disaster.
Came back for Morbius, and that was a disaster.
I could see Keaton telling people not to call him anymore for this multiverse stuff.

I'd feel worse if they fired him and gave the role to Eddie Redmayne.
