I doubt it. There has been talk of him playing Freddy Krueger in the next 'Nightmare on Elm Street' movie and Johnny Depp has said in a few interviews he would love to make a return to the Horror genre. I actually like the idea of him playing Freddy Krueger. However, I feel like he would have to take a big pay cut because of the budget for Nightmare films. I'm not sure if he would do that to basically play a creature type character in a reboot horror movie.

Doubtful. He's got several big projects lined up, and is still being praised for his talent and most of his performances. His roles as the Invisible Man (so long as "The Mummy" succeeds) and Gellert Grindelwald should earn him plenty of money in the future. People know who he is, and movie execs want that name recognition.
That being said, his time as Jack Sparrow, his signature role, is probably done. The advertising strongly implied that POTC: DMTNT was the last movie of the franchise. Not to mention that the movie underperformed on opening weekend, in spite of very good reception from the POTC fans.

He should go back to doing the kinds of films he did in the '90s before he became a blockbuster sellout. We need to rediscover whey we fell in love with his work in the first place. He also needs to do the same.

Yeah, it seems like audiences have largely moved on from Jack Sparrow and the POTC series, and instead of going out with a bang, the POTC franchise will instead go out with a whimper. I still think it'll be considered a success, but not the success that Disney was hoping for.

Wow pirates went from a 385 global opening to a 115 million second weekend. Audiences can smell a turd faster than Disney can sell one. This wont even make 800 million worldwide

This wont even make 800 million worldwide The big surprise would be if it doesn't even make the Top 10 worldwide of 2017. Then again, with that big of a drop, it might not be unthinkable at this point.

Perhaps as a lead, however, he could build a second career as a supporting player. Heck, he's part of the ensemble cast of Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of Murder On The Orient Express which opens in November.

I do think he should retire or get picky with his roles as he gets older. He was amazing in 21jump street (show) but he hated every second of it as time went on it was beginning to show.
Who wants to see a 70 year old Captain Jack spread peanut butter all over himself?????

A lot of actors who gone from the leads to character actors like that of William Hurt, Kevin Costner, the late Lawrence Olivier that are building in the second careers.

No, Johnny isn't done. All he needs is a good script, and a good role, in a good movie. Many performers have been in the same spot, and they got their hit, or they didn't.
I do wish he would do more of Black Mass, and less of Mortdecai.
