Its a 200m production , add 100m marketing, probably needs 700m to break even.

There’s no way it needs $700 million to break even.

There’s no way that BA needs $700 million just to break even.

There’s no way it needs $700 million to break even. If there's one thing I've learned from my time on IMDb forums it's that determining a film's break even point is a lot like reading tea leaves. It started out at 2.5 times the budget but by the time you've factored in marketing, reshoots and back end deals nobody knows what they're talking about anymore. And that's before we get into Hollywood's creative accounting practices.

2 times the budget equals a boxoffice success and not a flop. It has nothing to do with "breaking even". Many big budget tent poles don't "break even" at the box office but are still successful. The studio still makes profit because movies make money in many ways besides ticket sales.
Promotions Product placement Toys T-shirts Collectibles DVD/Blu-Ray National and International TV rights
Star Wars made vastly more money from toy sales then it ever made at the box office.
It remains to be seen if "Black Adam" will be a flop or not.

Wow... I wasn't even paying attention, I thought it was riding a healthy wave without competition.
I will say that all's I've seen buzzed about it, since even before official release is 'Superman' 'Superman is in it!' 'More Cavill!' 'Release the Snyderverse!?!' lols
Personally, I think Dwayne Johnson is overrated, & too old for his choices. Black Adam looks nothing but an indestructible character with little else but overwhelming, & boringly dull, powers. A male Captain Marvel.

I don't see the appeal of this man. He is way overrated.

I did think it was gonna do much better than it did. Dwayne Johnson is a big star and this was the first big movie in months. It was also a movie talked about for years.
It's domestic total after four weekends is only on par with Eternals too which is the biggest MCU flop. It'll likely surpass it in the end but still.
I'd have thought this would have cleared $600 million for sure.

It's a strange world we live in where we expected a Black Adam movie to make more money than the first ever live action Justice League movie starring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Aquaman.
