With the news that Jason Momoa might no longer be playing Aquaman but Lobo instead, it got me thinking: Maybe DC should just retain most of their actors but cast them as different characters all over?
So here's my pitch:
1. Idris Elba as Green Lantern. Let's be honest, he's completely wasted as Bloodsport. An actor like Elba deserves more than just C-Grade superheroes like Bloodsport or Heimdall. So make him Jon Stewart already and hit two birds with one stone: You get a diverse A-Tier superhero plus you get Idris-f*cking-Elba as one of your flagship characters.
2. Joe Manganiello as Superman. His Deathstroke role is dead in the water and he was the first choice for MoS anyway and only lost the part to Cavill due to a scheduling conflict. Besides, the guy isn't doing much these days and can be hired pretty cheap. DC would be saving quite the budget.
3. Henry Cavill as Batman. Ok hear me out: He channels his inner-Geralt everytime he's Batman (complete with the baritone growl) and goes full Man-from-UNCLE whenever he's Bruce Wayne. Then we can finally get a Bruce Wayne as suave as James Bond and a Batman as physical as the Witcher.
4. Robert Pattinson as Joker. Pattinson does great in cerebral roles. I could easily see him being a psycho without overdoing it (like Leto).
5. Chris Pine as Lex Luthor. I don't know if he'll look good bald but he definitely has the intensity and acting chops to pull this off. Got the idea after watching Don't Worry Darling.
6. Margot Robbie as Lois Lane. I never really liked her as Harley Quinn, as her portrayal felt too over-the-top and not in a good way. Margot plays strong, driven characters well but not crazy.
7. Joel Kinnaman as Aquaman. After seeing him in Altered Carbon I really think he can be a great leading man, better than Momoa anyway. He just needs a good platform and I think Aquaman can be it. He's certainly not a small guy and can beef up quite well when needed.
