I never read one of her books since they were marketed to kids, but I've seen the movies and like them. I got nothing against Rowling or the trannies she's in the raging culture battle with. Someone changing their sex does not affect me at all, so I have no argument against it. It certainly does not diminish me as a woman since a stranger's cunt/dick is not the some of my personality. I think if we all would calm down about Mister Penis and Madam Vagina, we just might be happier people. The Harry Potter series, it's entertaining but I felt that Rowling was lazy when it came to character development and the world doesn't make much sense (yes, I know it's Magic...) when you think about it. And the later books become too self-indulgent and aren't tightly plotted.
IMO.
They translated well onto the silver screen and that's about all genre fiction is now, a treatment to sell to Hollywood.

As for Rowlings' writing skill, well, no writer is truly flawless but fact of the matter is that very very writers have been able to write stories that appealed to such a vast audience like Rowlings did.
Pre-teen, teens and adults liked the Harry Potter series. Girls, boys, women and men like them.
That she could make a story that is so universally loved shows that she's an exceptionally talented writer.

Sure, I'm just saying that the first 3 books had no padding and were tightly plotted with no useless sideplots and got to the plot ASAP.
Starting with Book 4...not so much. Plus, she was lazy when it came to characters who weren't Harry. Ron and Hermione get their characters exaggerated (or outright derailed) starting with Book 4 and Rowling wasted too much time to introduce other female characters into the series.
All IMO.
