Here's a quote from the Live Science article: "They 'make a compelling case' that mammals diversified prior to the asteroid strike, rather than branching out only after the dinosaurs went extinct, Cullen told Live Science in an email." That's something I've been saying for years. The dinosaurs are better described as overrated bums rather than natural lords of the Earth. Dinosaurs couldn't compete against mammals on the ground; they got chased up to tree branches and we call them birds.
