Instead of that confusing statement about how the remaining DCEU movies are now DCU (even though we know they don't "count") DC should do something to set itself from Marvel: embrace other universes. In Marvel, characters from the MCU might hop over into another universe for a few minutes - or "outsiders" might come to the MCU - but there's never movies about the variants.
Gunn explicitly stated Joker and The Batman are Elseworld projects. The DCEU could be just that - and Elseworld project. Occasionally, the different worlds could even crossover. Not too much because you don't want to overuse the gimmick, but their version of Endgame could have Cavill's Superman and Batfleck fighting alongside their DCU counterparts. I don't see this happening, but it would have been smart to embrace something that could make them stand out.
