I remember like 6-7 years ago when MeTooing first became a big thing, it seemed every week some new big name was getting MeToo'd. It was all kind of exciting. Now we barely even get any new ones. I guess we had that Johnny Depp/Amber Heard thing, whatever happened there (didn't really care or pay attention). Other than that I can't even think of the last person to get one. Marilyn Manson around a year ago I guess? But that was an alleged MeToo and not an official MeToo though, which didn't seem to gain any traction I guess because it was happening during the Depp/Heard thing which was stealing the spotlight.
Could it be that most of the offenders have already been caught and that's why we don't get any more, or do you think that the ones that got away with it have simply just paid ungodly amounts in bribes to keep that stuff hidden, and potential new offenders are just extra cautious or perhaps just don't risk doing anything dodgy altogether?
Thoughts?

I think the Weinstein case was an example of technology getting out of the control of the Deep State in Hollywood. They had trouble containing it. From what I recall, it was an Italian asian model who had a case against Weinstein. Her diversity credentials might have allowed the case to proceed and generate some media interest. And or, Weinstein angered some friends when Clinton lost and was shed of some protection. But the publicity of this case made all the women on social media who had problems with Weinstein start talking and this created a snowball effect they could not stop. It went too far--like when someone mentioned Bryan Singer as another abuser--that was hastily shut down. Kevin Spacey was sacrificed to try to distract from it and that ridiculous "anti-white male" trend--as if you find this harem behavior in any normal business. Uma Thurman tried to do damage control by suggesting Tarantino wanted to kill her--but her comments on Weinstein were very revealing-she said that he used women employees to trick his targets into being alone with him--which reveals it was a conspiracy--Weinstein was able to do it openly without any fear of reprisal. Lysette Anthony said she took a complaint to UK police and nothing happened. Plus Peter Jackson verified that two actresses were blacklisted from his movies because they displeased Weinstein (and what has Jackson done in Hollywood since he commented on it?). Kate Beckinsale said abuse in Hollywood went far beyond Weinstein. They probably sent out warnings to employees not to say anything about it. Even Margaret Atwood--here she is with a tv show on the fictional world where white Christian men are forcing women to have children (good grief that is such an oddball concept when you think about it) and she had little to say on harem culture in Hollywood.
PS Also, didn't this happen after Trump (and Cosby) was accused of molesting 30 women? I think that episode probably was the trigger for the Weinstein scandal--that it made the actresses assume they could speak out.

After Amber Heard was exposed as a liar and an abuser the movement was seen as a sham and started to crumble. Also, remember Morgan Freeman, Geoffrey Rush and John Jarratt all exposed their accusers as liars. Evil women tried to hijack the movement to target men they didn't like.

I’ve noticed that the number of people being accused of Holocaust crimes has also fallen.
Anyway, Marilyn Manson is probably looking forward to MeToo going away so that he can go back to up-skirting young ladies at music festivals.

I'm not sure that Morgan Freeman was innocent. Especially after I heard him say "Rape is a good thing, maybe even the best of things. I rape people across the border. I rape my friends and shake their hands. I rape Malificent and Scooby Doo in my dreams. I rape..." Seems a little suspect to me, not gonna lie.

Ah you may be right. I never thought that that could be the very he hasn't done anything in now almost 10 years. Just assumed he was taking a break or something 🤔

I thought he won simply because he was much more popular, rich and powerful.
From what I've seen, he does not seem like a very good person.

Not sure what your definition of a good person is Caesar, but while Johnny Depp may not be an angel, I doubt he's a bad person, and he is so very human. When he went onto the stand and poured his heart out I could feel it. I am so glad I took the time to watch the trial and see the truth.

I think the main factor is that a lot of the accusees have been called out and more people started to see the movement as problematic and both sides are being taken more seriously.
On a side note, I have mixed feelings on MeToo as a whole because I am all for innocent until proven guilty, but it's important to take these accusations seriously since more people are framing the accusers as liars immediately after speaking out thanks to the Depp/Heard incident, and this could lead to real victims being silenced and rejected which I think is depressing.
To add to the list of people being accused after the height of MeToo, there's also Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in a conflict about Pitt being abusive to their family.
