Even though Scarjo's costume is tight fitting, it's still not exactly skintight. That's why her costume doesn't frame and mold around her ass the same way Tom Holland's costume does or Henry Cavill's. Now those costumes are really form-fitting. And yes, admiration and showcasing of the human physique has been a staple of both comicbooks and action movies. I really hope we don't go down a path where that is no longer celebrated. I thought it was delightfully skin-tight. It was definitely tight but it didn't mold to her form like a second skin, not like other bodysuits similar to Spiderman, Superman or Pfeifer's Catwoman.

What’s all of this tight clothing stuff? I mean skin. They showed Thor’s bare ass, didn’t they? Why can’t they show a female ass?

I think the material was just thicker. It definitely looked like a suit though. A couple of them wear suits that are so painted on that one could almost swear they're CGI suits. Johansson's suit does look like a real suit and not edited onto her nearly naked body, but it still looked pretty tight.
Keeping with the theme of the discussion, outfits so form-fitting can be and usually are just as revealing as outfits that show skin. There's virtually nowhere for her body to hide in her suit.

I agree that when a suit is tight enough, it's almost as revealing as being naked. However, I disagree that Black Widow's suit falls into this category. While it's definitely tight it's also made of thicker material and doesn't outline and highlight her form anymore than a wetsuit does. Your average yoga class will show women in far more form-hugging attire.

The movie had an entire tracking shot that focused on her butt. That's your interpretation. Technically, it was a tracking shot focused on showing her walking, just so happened to be shot from the back. Nothing about the shot made it sexual nor did it draw attention to her ass (unless that's what you yourself wanted to focus on). That's quite different from scenes where Thor or Cap are shown shirtless and even the characters on screen comment on their nudity, making it clear that that truly is the focus of the scene. Well, Cate Shortland did say that she “enjoys how sexy” Scarlett Johansson is, as long as she’s “in control.”

There were some (pretty tame) butt shots and jokes early on about Black Widow (the one about the Hulk's penis in AoU was cringe-worthy), but even then her outfit covers almost her entire body. Skin tight, sure. Revealing? Not at all. I get the impression Johanssan is the kinda person who had no issue doing it back then, but is offended about it now. I remember there being a point where Elizabeth Olsen scoffed at Scarlet Witch's comicbook costume and talked about more practical attire, but would then go on to wear the outfit in WandaVision. Half-naked buff chicks and guys has been a thing in comics for years. They're heroes for Christ's sake, they are human perfection, at least physically. It's something the average real person will never achieve. That's the point. To look up to and admire them. How long have action flicks done this? Every once in a while I see something about this on Facebook. There's always a few angry feminist types talking shit about guys not getting to see scantily clad women, unrealistic expectations, "body shaming", etc. I always get a kick out of posting shirtless pics of Hemsworth, Jackman, Evans, Cavill, and many more. Even though Scarjo's costume is tight fitting, it's still not exactly skintight. That's why her costume doesn't frame and mold around her ass the same way Tom Holland's costume does or Henry Cavill's. Now those costumes are really form-fitting.

And you know what? As a totally straight guy, that doesn't bother me. It goes with the territory. We want to see buff heroes. It's just a total double-standard. The fellas don't get much in the eye candy department and there's gratuitous stuff for the gals all over the place.

It also restricts the MCU from being creative with their female characters which in turn hinders them from making these characters truly iconic. In their drive to desexualize their female heroes they tend to give them very drab and boring costumes. Look at how unremarkable the costumes are for Wasp and Gamora. Even Wanda, who's arguably one of the most famous female MCU characters, took forever before she was given a proper costume.
