Liked it a lot. I didn't know anything going in so the story surprised me a bit. Like an anti-Rocky 1.
I skipped Ant-Man 3, but I can see why people are praising this Jonathan Majors kid. What a great fucking actor.

You could've just subscribed to Dazn there's more boxing and MMA on TV now than ever before that you can watch on your sofa.
Will also say Paul Rudd is seen as a comedy guy but he's a better lead actor than Michael B Jordan as the lead but Micheal excels as a villain though no doubt. Michael just plays really bland good guys.

Haven't seen it yet but I have to ask how do they explain Rocky's absence?

Haven't seen it yet but I have to ask how do they explain Rocky's absence? They don't. The only time he's even mentioned is a passing reference to his fight in the first movie. I feel like Avon Barksdale's character might have originally been Rocky but got switched out for whatever reason.

I liked it. Overall it was a well made and acted movie. I think Jonathan Majors was my favorite part. Definitely not very original. But despite following a very familiar formula it was still entertaining. I give it a 7/10.

Haven't seen it yet but I have to ask how do they explain Rocky's absence? They don’t. He’s only mentioned once and it was when Creed was describing an old fight. Besides that one mention he’s never talked about.

I know it would have felt very derivative of Creed II, but I was really hoping he would fight Clubber Lang's son in this one. Though if they did that I'd be worried they would start getting desperate and have him fight Tommy Gun's son in the next one.

I really liked it. There's nine of these movies now and they're about boxing so keeping them fresh is sort of difficult but I think they got away with that enough thanks to Majors character, it's the most emphasis they've ever put on an antagonists character before. Usually they are just there to be an obstacle so that's different.
Was hoping for more Viktor Drago though and they could have at least explained why Rocky was missing.

What sort of heavy-handed anti-white agitprop does it have?
Is this the type of film to make black kids in Ohio bully white ones?

Apparently, weight classes don't exist in this universe. Damian is a heavyweight, while the Hispanic dude he fights is a real-life welterweight boxer. They're not even close to being in the same weight class.

The "which son of a past Rocky villain should Apollo's son fight next" movies? That's what people pay to watch Creed for? That's their intellectual property?

Just finished seeing the movie. A good sequel. A lot more to do with personal stakes compared to the previous two films. Good performances and Jordan did good pulling double-duty as star/director.

I think he is terrific in Creed III as well btw. He is also memorable in Ant-Man 3 and one of the better aspects of the movie.

What a great fucking actor. I don't think he would have got many awards nominations for Creed III anyway, but he definitely won't now. His performance in Creed III is my favorite performance of the year so far.
