I don't care if someone else portrayed Daenerys , i wish there was a way to watch it. Tamzin merchant is a good actress, I remember watching the Tudors showtime series, she was part of it and was very good in it.

I never had any issue with Emilia Clarke as Dany.

I never had any issue with Emilia Clarke as Dany. Clarke didn't play Dany in the original pilot episode. The actress from Showtime's The Tudors did.

It would be interesting to watch just to see what didn't make it to the public. For that matter, Moonblood (that Naomi Watts series) would also be interesting to watch! There is a shot from the original GOT pilot that made it into one of the season 1 trailers. It shows the execution of Brandon Stark (Ned Stark's older brother) by the Mad King. It's a shame the scene can't be released on its own at least, but we'll probably see that play out eventually in some other GOT related project. i.pinimg.com/originals/1e/4d/e2/1e4de2d8e5d4e5382d8a9f26480bf312.jpg

I like Clarke better. Maybe because I'm used to her.

I like Clarke better. Maybe because I'm used to her. So did Jason Mamoa. He apparently didn't have any chemistry with the original actress and didn't feel like the scenes played right until Clarke arrived. I read Fire Cannot Kill A Dragon by James Hibberd. Nothing went right with their scenes. Apparently during the first sex scene between Drogo/Dany in the original pilot, the horse in the scene got...uh..."excited" by watching the two actors simulate sexual acts together...and that's when they discovered that the mare they thought they had for the scene, was in fact a stallion...

I think there were more problems than just the Dany actress.
From what I've heard, viewers couldn't even tell that Jaime and Cersei were supposed to be twins.

I think there were more problems than just the Dany actress. From what I've heard, viewers couldn't even tell that Jaime and Cersei were supposed to be twins. Yes, absolutely you're right. That was another problem with the original pilot. It's why they added the exposition scene where Cersei/Jaime talk together in the throne room with Jon Arryn's dead body in the background and they reveal they're siblings. Other problems with the pilot that come to mind: - They shot in Morocco but the whole thing looked so cheap that one HBO exec quipped, "Why the fuck did we go to Morocco? You can't see fucking diddly squat, we could have shot it in a car park!" Somebody else said, "It looks like it was shot in my backyard." - The original White Walkers - who actually spoke in another language - looked terrible. They just stuck a guy in a green shit and thought they would figure out what the White Walkers looked like later...the problem? It's a very expensive decision to make. It would have taken half the budget to do after the fact. - All the costumes looked too new and didn't look weathered the way they do in the series. Lena Headey (Cersei) said her hair wasn't very medieval and made her look like Dolly Parton. Joffrey and Viserys also had different hairstyles that were described as more pudding bowl-ish and short/bobbi-ish, respectively. - The original Catelyn Stark actress for the pilot decided that she didn't want to live in Northern Ireland (I don't know what she expected) and backed out of the show. They thought of forcing her to stick to her contract, but decided it was best just to part ways. - All the King's Landing scenes were cut to save money. So the first time the viewer met the Lannisters is when they arrive in Winterfell with Robert. No one kneels in the original pilot when Robert appears. - Dany's wedding was shot at night, so Ian Glen (Jorah Mormont) said that you couldn't see anything of all the money they spent on it.
