Don't watch "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" or "In the Heat of the Night", you'll go mad. I love In the Heat of the Night. I’ve never seen GWCTD but I know the plot. I think you’re conflating wokeness with racial equality. They are two different things. Now they’re replacing Dr Strange in WandaVision because he’s a white male and considering changng the name of the X-Men because it’s sexist. Wokeness isn’t about equality so much as ridiculousness. They kept Dr Strange out of WandaVision because him being there would've been a terrible idea, that's all. And the name of the X-Men is boring and we've had cooler X-Team names, nothing wrong with that.
"Woke" is a boogeyman word.

I’m sorry I was rude to you faustus5. I really don’t like being rude to anybody. Life is too short for that. Contrary to what you may think of me, I don’t want films to be irresponsible on social issues. I just don’t want them to focus on such things so acutely when they aren’t even delivering a good product. I don’t think that helps any perspective on the political spectrum. I don’t know what you mean by irresponsible on social issues? Does that imply you won’t be watching Death Wish, Taken, or the James Bond movies?

I love the original Death Wish films. I can’t think of any films I find irresponsible. I guess I’m trying to say that I’m not against diversity casting or the portrayal of gay characters etc. I just don’t want it to get in the way of quality filmmaking. Also I don’t want studios to blame any ‘isms’ when their crappy films bomb or are ratioed on youtube.
