That is a very long video for 8AM Whats the TLDR? My feeling is that (from skimming a bit) he is talking about the brutality of proper self evaluation, or rather I heard some that seemed to talk about that. There is a danger in honest self-evaluation, I dont think it is limited to Kaballah though. the other possibility (although I am not sure if he spoke about it) is that he thinks there is such a thing as black magic, which of course is like saying an evil gun. This guy seems interesting and Kaballah is one of the ways I came to where I am, does he have some written work?

Thanks for posting, clusium . I'm watching now. Cool. What he's saying lines up perfectly with an explanation I heard for the title of the Kubrick film "Eyes Wide Shut." The conclusion is that it is best for us to go through life being aware of the other side but treating it as if it didn't exist.

It’s not that kind of magic, but during the Middle Ages anyone who we would call “science-minded” today were attracted to alchemy and astrology to do “research.” Christians and Muslims were practitioners also. It’s has been persecuted by mainstream religions over time and driven underground. It gained popularity again during the Pale of Settlement period among the Hasidic. Kabbalah probably accounts for the over representation of Jews in the science fields and academics. They had a long tradition of rational intellectualism being valued in their communities.

Yeah Kaballah is quite rationalistic, it very much lead me to where I am today in that I believe however I change my belief when I find science disproves it. Having said that most of the sort of belief I am talking about is simply not within the scope of science.

And even Isaac Newton was a practicing astrologer.

Right, I kinds meant the other way around, I mean yes there is a logic in kaballah, what I mean though is that it is logical and rational, hermticism goes even further and talks about a spiritual science, of course it is subjective so not science. I guess I am trying to say I don't really compare science and religion no matter how logical the religion is, they simply address completely different things. Perhaps I am missing your point???

Kabbalah is a form mystical discipline that is practiced by some Orthodox & Chassidic Jews. There are many celebrities that think they can learn it, such as Madonna. However, actual practitioners of it, say Madonna & other celebs that claim to be practicing are frauds or delusional, as one has to have been studying the Torah for much of their lives, before they can learn Kabbalah (they have to at least be in their 40s, before they learn).

I’m agreeing with you. Unfortunately I actually thought that might be the case, obviously that is a clear violation of the terms and conditions of this board, I have reported you. I really hoped it would not come to this, we have to draw the line somewhere though.

The Jewish mystic/matephysics system. It forms the basis of most western occult practices.
