Teenage Exorcist (1991) I was kind of looking forward to be seeing this. Brinke Stevens and Fred Olen Ray cheesy b-horror movie, well, it did look lots of fun from the trailer I saw, sadly it was to be one of the worst movies I have seen last year. A complete piece of shit, not only that but much worse, it was extremely boring for most of the part, that I really hate. Bad and boring. So anyway, a young babe (Stevens) moves in to an old haunted mansion, all by herself. Pretty soons all kind of weird shit happens and before you know it, Eddie Deezen is there to save the day (not joking here). All in all, this is a really lame movie, the trailer looked cool and that's probably where most of the money and talent went, on a 2 minutes long trailer, cause it sure ain't shit made it into the final act.
I do like some of Fred Olen Ray's stuff. The guy sure loves making movies (lots of em') and often including cheesy special effects, laughable acting/plot (and probably my favorite of his) which is to have lots of beautiful women dropping their clothes off, all the time. Brinke Stevens, (along with Michelle Bauer and Linnea Quigley are some of Ray's favorite scream queens) and while she do not lose all of her clothes, she is the main "star" in this film, and she also provided the screenplay (which is not that awful). Sadly the film is just not very good, and after a "promising" start, it really dies away fast and brutal. The horrible attempts of slapstick "comedy" are just annoying and not one bit funny, and this was as I mentioned above earlier, probably one of the worst films I have seen for months (maybe more). Hell, I even "survived" watching Home Alone 5 (2012) and The Hot Chick (2002) the same day, and believe me I would rather see them once again (maybe even twice) than to waste more time on re-watchinge Teenage Exorcist. It was that bad, still some nice portion of T&A do help "save" the day, for a few minutes at least and so I am very generous for giving it a "kind" rate of: 2/10

Alien Covenant.
On DVD last night.
It was a mess, just like Prometheus.
Half the film is too dark to see what on Earth is going on anyway (which was probably a blessing).
Reports that the studio have cancelled the next installment are warmly welcomed. Rumours that Disney are considering rebooting the Alien franchise are not.

Attack of the 50 foot Woman (1958). Poor special effects, absurd plot, and silly dialogue, but I've seen it at least 6 times, which would be 6 more times than I've seen Citizen Kane. The quintessential So Bad It's Good movie.

"Terror Train" (1980)
Above average slasher may not be for people who crave tons of nudity and gore, but it's slick and atmospheric, and well shot in cramped locations. The gimmick of the costume party (allowing the killer to roam around while changing costumes) and the illusions of David Copperfield help to give it a little something extra. Great performance by old pro Ben Johnson, as the calm, take-charge conductor Mr. Carne. And a solid final showdown / pursuit with the psycho and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Jamie Lee Curtis is especially good.

Tremors 1 thru 4 with all the "making's of" disk extras.
WHY are these films not talked about and beloved ?
Funny. SCARY ! Logical, despite the illogic of the whole premise. Characters are introduced so we can actually care when they get eaten.
I don't usually like films like this but this one (ok FOUR) are terrific.

“Crimson Peak” (2015)
Visually stunning gothic romance. Hats off to Del Toro who’s rapidly becoming one of my favorite filmmakers. The cinematography, sound, costume design, the freaking ridiculous sets... loved every minute of it. Looking forward to checking out “The Shape of Water” in the near future.

mszanadu Inspired by your post, I have set my DVR to record "The Bat" on Comet today. Oh wonderful taylorfirst1 ! IMPO - This film actually exceeded my expectations especially with the storyline and the classic yet memorable all-star cast puts it over the top in a positive fun way too . I actually just finished up watching this one again right now on the COMET channel too . Please let me know what you thought of this film after watching it as well . Also when watching this film just curious to know if you happen to notice any possible " future inspirations " like a certain main character that might have been inspired to the film saga - " A Nightmare on Elm Street " ( HINT - check out " The Bat's attire " not sure if this is true but it sure seems quite close to an inspiration to me here ) . Also you're most welcome for the movie recommendation and thanks taylorfirst1 for your reply .

Night Junkies (2007) Found this on Tubitv. A vampire doing his thing on the sordid side of London falls in love with one of his victims. Nudity, violence, romance and sleaze. Only a 4.7 on IMDB but I liked it. 7/10.

They're certainly beloved within their cult (and I mean that in the nicest possible way) following. And now we've gotcha! Mwahahahaha! As I opined elsewhere, 4 runs second only to the first for charm and originality, although each brings its own new twists of one kind or another; not just in the morphing of the creatures, but in characters and their interplay, with Bert, or his forebear, as the unifying human element. I never watched Family Ties and had seen Michael Gross only in Big Business prior to Tremors (and in a few TV appearances since), but within just that limited exposure, I've become quite impressed with the versatility of his gifts.

The Faculty (1998)
I remember having been wanting to see this back in 1998-99 but it never happened. Years flew by and suddenly I picked up this dirt cheap DVD copy and felt something had to be done about that. The film is not a great one, the special effects are very uneven. I wish they had gone for the "less is more" approach here, but I liked that the film parodies and does a little twist and turn when it come to the typical teen-horror film/school stereotypes. It was mostly a fun film to watch, and I had no idea Robert Rodriguez directed this.
6/10
