soo… I only watch “tv” (meaning shows) once a day, for about an hour, before i go to bed.
so i dont think its That Much.
BUT - Ive seen it ALL. All thats good anyway, feels like it.
I pay for 3 streaming services and still cannot find anything to watch tonight. Aargh.
So that leads me to my question, if I have simply seen too much already and should take a detox break or something?
Anybody else struggles with this, the feeling they have seen all thats worth having seen?

Sounds like far too little. Lately I have been watching a few hours of shows per day and still feel like I am far behind.
Are you sure you've seen all the prestige shows?
Wait.... I just read this
No wonder... WTF? Why? Most of the best shows are from the 2000s and 2010s. Current TV is nowhere near as good.

seen all of those except OZ - that just looks too dark (as in depressing, not black) for me, and Justified, that I DIDNT KNOW that existed and it looks pretty cool!! I will check that out, thanks!

Catman watches a lot of anime. I could never get into any Anime, no matter how much I tried, but granted it has been a long time ago and I saw barely any tbh. What would you recommend for an anime newbie, who is a woman?

What would you recommend for an anime newbie, who is a woman? You might find these interesting: Dagashi Kashi which is about a teenager who wants to be a manga artist and runs a snack food store with his father. Your Lie in April which is about a teenage pianist who lost the ability to hear himself play after the death of his mother. He meets a carefree violinist who ropes him into being her accompanist for music competitions. Lots of good music. Natsume's Book of Friends which is about a teenager who can see yōkai. He inherits a book containing the names of many yōkai and resolves to return their names. Fruits Basket which is about a lively teenage girl who moves in with a family named Sohma family who transform into zodiac animals when they become weakened, stressed, or embraced by someone of the opposite sex. There are two anime adaptations, one from 2019 and one from 2001. Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear which is about a teenage girl who finds herself in another world wearing a bear costume which gives her incredible powers. Spice and Wolf which is about a traveling merchant who teams up with a fox spirit who really loves apples. These have the advantage of little on-screen violence and limited amounts of fan service (nudity, upskirt shots, uncomfortable physical encounters between teenagers).

I hardly watch TV at all, but there isn't such a thing as "too much TV" if that's what you're into, as long as it doesn't negatively affect your life or whatever.
If you're trying to get through multiple series, one hour a day seems like too little. Maybe 2 or 3, depending on how much free time you have to spare.

I hope you mean TV as in free to air or cable, and not TV shows. Otherwise you'd be missing out on many of the best pieces of storytelling media. Unless you've already seen them all I guess.

Oh nice, that is good to hear then. I was worried it was a rule you had, and not because you've already seen mostly everything. Oz has some very depressing stuff in it true, but the show has this sort of soap opera type feel that makes it a bit more palatable. If you've seen stuff like Sons of Anarchy and Boardwalk where some really heinous stuff happens then you should be able to handle Oz. Maybe give the first season a go? I can definitely understand not wanting to continue it though if it's too much.
Justified is actually one I'm watching for the first time now (Got a few more eps of season 3) and it is indeed really cool. Just be warned that season 1 is not very good (it starts out episodic but thankfully they change it to become much more serialized in the later episodes of season 1)

Nope, it's because I haven't seen enough TV shows. I am completely aware that I've been missing out, and I don't really have a reason besides that I've always been into movies more and life getting in the way. There are a lot of them on my list that I want to get started on, though.

The show cant be more than 5 years old, it must be the first (and only) time I see it (I dont really rewatch shows), it has to have SOMEONE i know from somewhere in jt and has to have rating over 65% on Rotten Tomatoes / 70% on IMDB. And must be American. British at worst. Why on earth would you limit yourself to American TV?
I struggle with the opposite problem - too many things to watch. Probably 100+ shows on Netflix, maybe 20 on Amazon, plus countless others that I bought on DVD/Blu-Ray and never got around to watching.

On average I dont find the same quality in other tv shows, what can I say. Scandinavian tv shows are good but often too dark or slow for me. I loved one german tv show (Dogs of Berlin) and one japanese show (Arisu in Boarderland but only season 1) , but thats one out of dozens I tried. Its not for luck of trying believe me. I am from Europe myself so I am familiar with European tv shows. But I tend to find most enjoyment in American and British ones. What non american tv shows would you recommend?
