I saw this as kid on TV around the mid 60's. I remember very little and what I do recall is it take place along the coast (probably California) and it was very foggy which might have been use to concealed the aliens There were lots of shots of radars turning and I mean a lot. Probably to fill screen time. The aliens might have been robots but I'm not positive about that. Even as a kid who would watch anything SC-FI or horror I could tell this was done on the cheap and a stinker. It's not Target Earth (1954)

Two total guesses: Robot Monster (1953) But you didn't mention a bubble machine, so maybe not. Target Earth (1954) Haven't seen this one, but I've heard the special effects weren't so much.

It's none of those. The Slime People has the fog and it's a stinker but no radars which is the only thing I distinctly remember. Thanks everybody for trying.

Invaders from Mars (1953)?
I saw this on TV in the late 50s or early 60s. I do remember fog but I don't remember it being on a coast. Three things I remember: The aliens landed in sand dunes, the zippers on the back of the aliens costumes were visible, and (on several occasions), this boy yelling, "Colonel Fielding, Colonel Fielding"
