Any of you ever seen this movie? This was a movie based on a sci-fil novel that was supposed to be the start of some franchise. But sadly, the franchise never happened with the movie not doing well at the box office. It's a sci-fi movie with a decent budget and cast (Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin). From the director of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Ender's Game (2013) - 2.5 out of 4 stars"Elaborate rendering of Orson Scott Card's much-loved 1985 novel about a precocious but sensitive boy named Ender Wiggin (Butterfield), who is chosen by a cold-blooded colonel (Ford) to train for his ultimate mission: saving the Earth and its people from an impending attack, using his intuition and the strategic smarts he's acquired from playing video games. There's just one thing the colonel hasn't counted on: Ender's empathy for his adversaries, even the ones who have bullied him. Creditable adaptation of the youthful empowerment novel by the writer-director Hood is great looking and extremely well cast. If only it didn't drag toward the climax. HD Widescreen."

It's been a long time, but I saw it and thought it was a pretty entertaining good-if-not-spectacular movie. Not sure why it didn't connect with audiences, but I never read the book so maybe something was lacking in the eyes of its fans.

Is it like dune at all? Just wondering. Not in the slightest way.

Catman thought it was fairly entertaining, but the last act seemed forced.

I saw about half of it a couple of years ago...I can't remember why I cut it shortish. Probably sex. I remember thinking it ok and reasonably engaging. I think I'll ketchup soon as a result of this post.
