By that I mean a moment in a show where it looks like they are about to use an overused/cliche trope, but then it ends up being something different/better.
I've noticed this quite a few times I'm sure but the only one I can think of off the top of my head was this scene in Barry, where it made fun of this certain trope which I'm sure we've all seen many times before.
Not sure what this trope is called, but it's the one where character 1, who thinks they are cool or superior or whatever to character 2 comes into a room and is about to lecture or say something dramatic to them, and they grab a nearby chair, put it backwards and sit on it with the back part of the chair towards their crotch, as they talk to the character 2. Pretty poorly explained but yeah.
Barry did a scene where someone tries this, then immediately realizes it is awkward/stupid and then spins it around and sits on it normally.

At the end of an episode of Firefly, Nathan Fillion spares the bad guy, who then gives the ol' villaninous "this isn't over, I shall have my revenge" monologue, to which Fillion just goes "oh" and kicks the dude into a jet engine right then and there.
