New Christmas Slasher is in the works. Starring Justin Long. I always enjoy Horror movies set in the Winter time. This will join "A Creature was stirring" Starring Chrissy Metz and Scout Taylor Compton.

Yeah, posted the trailer in it's own thread a couple of weeks ago.
It looks... fine.

Fun and stupid, but I've seen worse. Didn't realize it would be on Shudder. I'll try to give this a look soon.

Fun and stupid, but I've seen worse. I found it pretty weak. It was the first of these in the trend of horror movies ripping the concept of other familiar movies that really didn't work for me. She has to explain her reality to some characters that would never get on board with what she's telling them, which is fine if you can make those scenes make sense, but the weird girl and Katherine Isabelle just accept this without really questioning her at all. And then everything that happens after that feels anticlimactic. She has to kill the villain, but then she goes after Justin Long, people are drone/zombies all of a sudden for no reason that has never been brought up before, and then she just defeats Justin Long very, VERY easily. Then she can't find her way back to her world... but then she does and it's fine. Then she goes back and everything is perfect... too perfect. To the point where it feels suspicious and must be setting up a final twist... but no.. that's the ending. It just ends. And the solution of who she ends up being with and why is dumb and feels completely out of place. Good title, evokes the concept really, but ultimately a pretty bad movie and a missed opportunity.

It's fun time waster if you don't think about it all too much. The ending was pat and things seem tacked on last minute. Where are the daring young filmmakers of this generation who want to disturb and surprise us, in a good way? Not working on Shudder it seems.

Where are the daring young filmmakers of this generation who want to disturb and surprise us, in a good way? Not working on Shudder it seems. Well, I haven't seen either yet, but I've heard only heard good things about the filmmaker who made Terrified and Where Evil Lurks. Everyone says those are daring and disturbing. I also watched The Dark and Wicked on Shudder, Caveat was on there which was pretty unsettling, and while you may not say it was disturbing or scary Skinamarink was certainly different, surprising, and daring. There's good stuff, including good new stuff, on Shudder if you look for it. As well as good time wasters. This one just wasn't up to the decent time wasters that were similar and set the precedent to me. But it is kinda fun to see Justin Long embracing his role as a horror movie douche bag. The last three movies in a row I've seen him in he's really gone for being a pretty despicable horror movie dick.
