that the correct way to watch them is to watch them all the way through? Without interruption.
In other words if you miss something, and feel like rewinding it too bad. Or if you have to get up and do something, you can't pause it.
In other words you can't rewind it, or pause it. Because when it originally aired on t.v. you could do neither of those things.

On TV as the shows aired, you also had commercial breaks.
One of the great things about owning TV shows (or movies, for that matter) on disc (and tape until 20 years ago) is that you can do that. You're not tied to the same constraints as you are watching them on TV.
This is coming from a guy who has spent the last 11 years watching TV show after TV show in airing order.
