Hope everyone is okay and just keeping busy.
Haven't seen any new posts for a few days now. I'm finally feeling better. Had a follow-up with the pulmonologist that saw me in the hospital. He put me on a sleep apnea machine at night. It's going to take some getting use to for sure. Had me get an RSV vaccination and I also need to get a pneumonia shot in another week or so.
I'm planning on some boiled shrimp for dinner tonight and probably a green salad. Still trying to watch my carbs. Found some awesome frozen shrimp on sale, so took advantage of it. Started my newest diabetes medication last night, so hopefully it will start working to lower my blood sugar.
Take care and can't wait to see some new posts.

I hope everything works out for you and mr. sunshine. I don't have anything new to post, been doing a lot of grocery shopping - Publix has had some good deals.
WKD decided he wants meatloaf again (first time in about 3 years) do you have a good, simple meatloaf recipe?
I've also been binge watching the Doc. Martin series, I got the whole series plus the Xmas special on ebay cheap and so far all the discs are playing great.

I'm so glad that you're feeling better, Sunshine.
You're right that there is, certainly, a dearth of postings in comparison with what used to be the case. For me it was the loss of the Politics board. I love to get into political activities, such as working on campaigns, registering voters, working on "candidates' nights," ... and so on. That board was my main draw. I suppose I can see why platforms are reluctant to entertain such boards. The can get quite "heated," and, it occurred to me that some may use "coded" language to plan mischievous behavior. I had hoped that the "News" board might become a calmer alternative for discussion of current events. But, that hasn't come to be.
The General Discussion board is OK, but there are so many "Post a Random (fill-in-the-blank)" topics, and I'm not going to spend time searching around for pictures. I weigh in on some topics on Classic Film, but that board is also quiet, now.
So, I drop in, a couple of times a day to see what's going on ... and drop an occasional comment. And, I think about you folks, every day.

There were some pretty good fights on that board, us older posters can handle that kind of nastiness but I think the younger posters got easily offended. I enjoy a good fight once in a while.

Martin series, I got the whole series plus the Xmas special on ebay cheap and so far all the discs are playing great. You're in luck, WKM, in a meatloaf recipe, you almost can't fail ... as long as you include some ground meat. This recipe is what my parents used, and I've been doing it since I was 10-12. I "eyeball" most amounts, but I'll do my best to approximate. Set the oven to 350F. To one large bowl add: -- One pound of ground beef -- 1/4 pound of pork sausage ... I buy Jimmy Dean bulk sausage, and cut it into 4 pieces, freeze them, and use as necessary (You could probably use 3/4 lb. of beef, and 1/4 sausage, but this is easier and works fine -- 1 raw egg -- 2 tbs, chopped parsley -- 1 small chopped onion (I usually use red, but I doubt that it makes a difference -- 1 minced garlic clove (I like the larger ones -- Tbsp. bread crumbs -- Squeeze of lemon juice -- Salt/Pepper to personal taste (Note that you can add any other herbs/flavorings that you like) Easy part:
-- You have all of the above in one bowl -- Mix the ingredients WITH YOUR HANDS. It's "squishy," and it's fun! -- Put the mixture into a buttered loaf pan, and cook for 1 hour. Voila! Meat loaf. If you put raw Russet potatoes ... washed and "pricked" ... in at the same time, they'll be ready when the meat loaf is. Enjoy.

I don't really follow a recipe for my meatloaf. I use ground beef, an egg, oatmeal, milk, onion and a little catsup. I don't make a big meatloaf anymore, but probably just half of a recipe and make a small loaf.
It's pretty much the Quaker Oat Meatloaf recipe. Meatloaf
Hope you, mr wkm and the wicked kitties are all doing well. We are finally over the COVID, but still not feeling really back to normal. Hopefully, we will feel stronger soon.

I really miss the 'old days' of the original IMDb. I made so many friends over the years there. Miss the discussions we had, even though some of them got pretty heated at times.

The Food & Drink board had some of the nicest posters of any message board I've ever seen. I miss it and think fondly of it. Glad you're feeling better!

I think that's what Count Suckula used to call you ... would open the bar. We would all come running. I once asked for a "Sidewinder Fang." I'd never had one ... still haven't ... but some younger neighbors used to stop at a certain bar, and have it. I just thought it was funny. Should the bar open, later, I would entertain a Manhattan - Maker's Mark. Good to see you, again.

And yes, Happy Hour was always well attended back then! Just brought back some great memories. I'd be happy to make you a Manhattan and Maker's Mark is a personal favorite. Just 3 fingers of the Mark for me but, Salud!
