RIP
Thanks to my first girlfriend for introducing me to The Pogues.
He was a modern-day Troubadour.

I was helping out at a Mean Fiddler in the 80s. The Pogues arrived at about midday.....due to perform at 9.00 pm. Started drinking from the get-go ......I didn't think they'd be corpus mentus by 5.00. Set their gear sporadically between rounds. They were fab and funny bunch of guys.....and played a f☆cking Blistering and memorable set at 9.oo. Shane .....what a legend. Respect and r.i.p. and thanx and a raised glass to you and yours, you Wild Rover.

As soon as I heard that news, I immediately went to my iPhone to play "Fairytale Of New York". An aside to this: When I was at the arena where I frequent for hockey games, it donned on me that I had to add that song to my Christmas compilation in my iTunes library. I went to add it, and it was already there. WHEW! RIP Shane McGowan. Joker's Wilde
