Campbell played his cards loose and fast and got burnt. High stakes gambling leaving points on the board like that is unacceptable. He's gotta be more pragmatic when they have the lead instead of betting on green trying to get more points than needed to get the job done.
This might have been Detroit's best chance at getting to the Superbowl for a few more years/decades because that's how this franchise is run. This could go down as just another abnormality season like when Jacksonville got to the championship game a few years ago then fell off the radar.
Just have to wait and see.

Man what a boring Super Bowl. I guess Iβll root for the 49ers. But I really donβt like either team.

I think this team is for real though. They're young and have legitimate talent, and Goff has looked really strong, even in this loss. They've been on the rise ever since Campbell got there. Granted, that's only 3 years, but they've gotten better ever year that he's been coaching there. I think they're gonna he a contender for a while.

Watching SVP tonight as they talk about the game with Tim Hasselbach. Talking points on why the Ravens lost: 1) gameplan, 2) receivers weren't open.
Lamar skates again.

Chiefs handed yet another victory by an anxious bunch. First the Bills tried to be perfectionists, & Mahomes kept driving on them with one hand tied behind his back. Then these Ravens, trying to be too cool for school, ending up behind 2 scores before they knew the game started. How many penalties do you need to gift Mahomes exactly?? Thought having a 2 time MVP QB would be confidence enough. Oh well, lols John Harbaugh that f'n windbag.
Dan Campbell is a boss, & yet his stick-to-the-script-no-matter-what cost these Lions dearly. 49ers getting 3 out of halftime, the Lions could've kicked their own 3 with all that game time bled out behind them. I saw this with the 2017 Jaguars who lost the AFC title game at New England when they f'n ran out of plays & ideas, & stuck to their script. 28-3 is another. Still... give huge credit to the 49ers adjustments, giving the Lions the opposite of what they showed 1st half. As for Purdy, if he defeats Mahomes, he's great. Love & Goff on the ledger still doesn't quite clinch it for me with his weapons.
SF 30 - KC 20... I think the 49ers offense will complicate things too much for the Chiefs, enough to win close. CMC SB MVP.
As for both the Lions & Ravens - just as well to lose this wkend, a SB loss can crumble a program - at least those 2 teams can get motivated again quick. Still, both are in bloodthirsty divisions... maybe both have 3 playoff teams in them next season.

I hate Super Bowl rematches - this one is particularly dull on the face of it.

Yet fans still insist she's being "shoved down our throats." Just like politics were being "shoved down our throats" during the kneeling. Its not just the TV broadcasts. Just look at ESPN's YouTube channel yesterday. They posted like 7 videos dedicated to Taydolf within an hour. You've got the talking head shows and podcasts that feel the need to discuss her. We got Guess the Lines Sunday night podcast with Bill Simmons and Cousin Sal discussing the possibility of Kelce proposing after the Super Bowl. We got the aspect of when everyone is talking about her they are incapable of saying anything negative about her because her MAGA cult like fanbase would jump down your throat because they have no identity to themselves outside of being a "swifty". I have never seen so many people whose entire identity revolves around being a fan of a celebrity, its disturbing. You got the shows that are talking about her acting like this is some amazing thing that everyone should be enjoying because she is Taylor Swift and that she should be worldwidely beloved like she is Sandra Bullock and America's sweetheart. You got the stupid Kansas City Chiefs/Kelce/Swift merchandise thats being sold. That bitch needs to just go the fuck away. The visual of her face physically makes me ill. Somebody needs to invent an ad blocker for real life that can block anything Taydolf related. She is at Kardashian levels of overexposure. Fuck her and fuck all of her fanbase and fuck Travis Kelce. We now got two more weeks of this bullshit.

Andy Reid in 1997 - Brett Favre's QB coach with Green Bay. That season, the Packers lost to Mike Shanahan's Broncos in SB32. Now Reid faces Shanahan's son in SB58. I pointed this out four years ago - it's still crazy to me so here it is again.

omg who cares about the Taylor Swift shots. Every single game there's shots of family/friends... sorry if when those happen to be famous homo sapiens triggering something, get over it.

Never really thought about it, but a lot of guys who are X-time Pro Bowlers are just replacement players in the game, due to injuries, players opting out, or prepping for the Super Bowl. Which counts as much as actually being selected when the Hall of Fame elections occur. Gardner Minshew II, Geno Smith, and Baker Mayfield are Pro Bowlers this year as replacement players. All the guys with + signs here: www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/probowl.htmLast year, Tyler Huntley was a pro-bowl replacement. He played 6 games. Stephon Gilmore played 8 games the year before. Evan Mathis a few years back played 9. Shaun O'Hara played 6 games in 2010, but he was selected.

CBS is going to have "doink" cameras up on the goalposts.
Do we need a separate Super Bowl thread?

Sounds like the NFL fucked up on grass preparation the second year in a row. 49ers practicing on subpar grass field surface placed on top of artificial turf too late.
