Amazing that Bill lived to be 98 years old but so saddened to hear of his passing. I had heard that his health was declining this past year and he was always seated in his scenes. Him and Susan were pure magic on the show and I think they truly were the first super couple of daytime. He will be missed dearly on the show and my heartfelt condolences to Susan and all the Days family. RIP Bill!

I saw the news this morning. He lived a wonderful life and entertained so many of us with his pure joy and delight. This still makes me sad to hear. I am thinking of Susan - this must be so hard for her. 😢😢😢

Did anyone see that Bryan Cranston shared a story about Bill on the comments on the Deadline article/obit? It was so lovely. You can find it on Twitter easily.
Not too many from the cast have shared things yet...I only saw a few postings so far.

I did see the tribute to Bill from Bryan Cranston. Brandon Beemer shared a tribute to Bill on his Instagram. I’m sure more cast members will be posting tributes to him in the coming days. Bill Hayes was so charismatic and I always loved his appearances on Days. I really thought it was so cool when he revealed that the devil was inside of him to Marlena. He sold that scene so well that I had chills running down my spine.

He was so great in that, really 97 and being such a great sport for being in that story. Ron Carlivati posted something about it on his Insta. I saw a post from MBE and SN also.
I am sure it's hard news, they have all known each other a long time and will share in time.
He was a delight. I was always happy when Doug and Julie were on.

Was the Christmas episode the last time he filmed or will we still get to see him? That would be strange since the Christmas before was Victor’s last appearance.

I believe he will air one more time in February if I recall correctly from what I read.

I thought it was really classy of Bryan to do that. And such a wonderful story.
I saw Greg Vaughan and a few others are starting to share posts. All of the tributes are lovely.

The tributes from Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell were also very touching. I’m hearing that Days is working on getting them back on the show for Doug’s funeral. It’s going to be really sad.

Hope has to be there for her dad's funeral come on!!! I’m sure she will. She would really create an uproar with her fans if she didn’t. Unlike Melissa Reeves who doesn’t care, Kristian has remained close with her DOOL family.

Well I think maybe when MR's intolerant tendencies came out, a lot of the cast distanced themselves from her. I believe Lamon and Linsey were two of the more outspoken ones.
Hope has to come back for her father's funeral and to support her sister/step-mom. She just has to!

Days does a good job of honoring longtime cast members who pass away.
