In MERCY, the mob takes control of a hospital where one of its members (Ryan Quinn) has been admitted as a patient. His brother Sean is claiming that an FBI agent was the culprit, when in reality it was him who shot him. I don't think it's a spoiler to say that the truth comes out during the final showdown with the heroes, because it's the most obvious direction the story could've been taken in. Why not write Sean's betrayal as a plot twist instead? It would've made the confrontation between villains more interesting, without the neverending build-up. Despite a couple of unintentionally funny moments (the way in which the cops salute the protagonist (a doctor with a military background named Michelle Miller), and the way electricity is shown when a henchman is zapped), this is a generic action/thriller with bad directing and weak performances.
3/10

Jonathon Rhys Myers and Jon Voight also did a similarly cheap, and crummy movie together in 2022 called Dangerous Game: The Legacy Murders in 2022. I guess they like working together, or have a contract working for whatever 3rd rate company produces these kinds of movies.
They both had such promising careers at one point.

Watched this the other night. It was entertaining trash, but it most certainly is trash, and 3 actors from this movie (Jonathan Rhys Myers, John Voight, and Bradely Stryker) all appeared in this movie and the previously produced (and mentioned) Dangerous Game: The Legacy Murders, and while they have different directors they share other producers and crew... so I'm sure the production company and financing are the same as well.
And both films are similarly crummy. They're essentially competent, but not good beyond stretching a low budget.

Jon Voight 'won' the worst actor razzie for this movie, as it turns out. He's not good, and the movie definitely sucks, but that may not be fair. A lot of that is probably his shoddy accent.
