Defense lawyer Brian McMonagle immediately attacked what he said were inconsistencies in Constand's story, disputed that Constand was incapacitated and made the case that she and Cosby, who was married, had a romantic relationship. McMonagle said Cosby gave her the cold and allergy medicine Benadryl only after she complained she couldn't sleep.
McMonagle said Constand changed the date of the encounter from mid-March to mid-January of 2004. And he said Constand initially told police that she and Cosby had never spoken afterward, when, in fact, phone records show the two talked 72 times after mid-January — with 53 of those calls initiated by Constand.

I just hope this won't turn out like OJ. [me feeling so sorry for him and believing his innocence then believing his ass was guilty -- which it was].
I feel so sorry for him. He was the only African American celebrity who realed-the-world-up when it came to African American males as fathers. no one else [not even Sidney potier] will even THINK of keeping it real for the black parents. I feel for these women if he did indeed do those things but I don't see what kind of mental justice they will receive from these proceedings. and if he did drug them way back then, that's just it... it was way back then. anyone hear of statute of limitations? [I agree there should e no statue when dealing with child molestation/sexual abuse but these were adults. who kept on going back.
not to blame the victim but fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...

I hope Cosby's innocent but, if the jury finds him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, then yeah, he should be sentenced. You can't really compare the O.J. Simpson trial to Cosby. O.J. was acquitted. He could have been innocent or guilty (I still think guilty because of something suspicious surrounding the glove scenario).
Look at it this way: Dr. Cliff Huxtable never drugged or raped any women, the actor did (allegedly). If you separate the two, then you shouldn't have any problems watching The Cosby Show (1984 - 1992).
I still enjoy it for what it is.
