The premise sounds a little bit like the first season of Channel Zero (which was a good premise), but different, and in a 'Gen Z' style if such a silly thing even exists.

I did too. I've actually just read the little story that season 4 is based on so I'm gonna start watching that final season. I kinda wish some of them (particularly that 3rd season with Rutger Hauer) used their stories as more direct inspiration and didn't change the basic premise too much... but it was a quality show. Maybe it was a bit ahead of its time, but other horror anthology shows have clearly lasted longer. You'd think with its concept they'd never have run out of material as long as the audience was there.

Yeah, having read all those Creepypasta's, they could have made a ton of them. It was a unique show. Candle Cove was the best.

I liked the concept of the first season a lot, and there were some striking images. If I recall it correctly, I don't think the resolution worked all that well for me, but it was well made and had the right tone. I also think it followed it's original story more closely than other seasons, but I haven't watched the 4th yet. I don't know if there's enough of a fan base, or if the idea of the 'creepy pasta' has passed its time, but I could see them bringing this show back for streaming. There's plenty of material. And again, this movie looks like it has some thematic connection to Candle Cove. It may be totally different, but there's a core idea and some core imagery in common.
