I posted this a few days ago but my "senile" mind had me post it in Celebrity news. I used for the first time Friday to make a frozen pizza (American Flatbread Tomato, herb & cheese). The pizza came out perfect and tasted better than using a regular oven. I got it for $47.95 at Amazon, a lot of pizza ovens cost more but you can't go wrong with Betty Crocker. Of course, its "Betty Crocker Red." It will be used weekly.

I just recently bought one too! Love it!! It's great for pizza or reheating pizza, but I've also made grilled cheese and other grilled sandwiches on it too.

How hot does the oven get, and how long does it take to get to the appropriate temperature?
I don't do frozen pizza, often. I have a "pizza stone," which I bought at Target, a few years ago. It does a good job. But, the suggestion is that it be heated at 450, for about an hour, before cooking. Our local power company is PG&E (Pacific Gas and Electric). Their rates are skyrocketing, to the point where we tend to write it: PG$E. It's crazy to let an empty oven heat, for so long.
It would be less expensive to order out ... or, buy a pizza parlor.

It preheats in about 5 minutes or less and it takes between 8 - 10 minutes to cook the pizza, I don't know what temperature it gets to but it cooks the top of the pizza much better than a regular oven. I usually buy my frozen pizzas on sale ($7.99 for the American Flatbread, 6.99 for the Italian pizzas and on Thursday I can get Fresh Market's homemade pizza for $6.00 all 12 " pizzas), to get a medium pizza from a pizza parlor - we were spending at least $15.00 and it was mostly crust and very few toppings. I'm finding recipes for other things that can be made in the pizza oven but I think I will stick to pizza. I also bought 12" round parchment paper liners, a pack of 100, that way I don't have to use any oil on the bottom of the pan. I also make sure I use Reynold's non stick foil for cooking in the oven, no pans need to be greased.
