This is in part for me and in part to give other people suggestions. I thought it would be fun to take the general award categories and add and subtract with the more movies from 2024 that I watch. Any recommendations are welcome. Maybe some under the radar 2024 movie that I haven't heard of. Probably not this early in the year, but later in the year.

I'm assuming these are just placeholders, and a lot of your Dune picks will be replaced as the year goes on? The only standout performance in Dune II that I can think of is Bardem. He kills it in exactly the kind of role that gets someone a nod, but not a win. Literally anyone could do what Zendaya does in this movie. I'm surprised with the praise Dune is getting when there just isn't much to this movie. I mean I liked it, more so the second time I saw it, but I still don't think it's amazing.

I really like all the performances in Dune, but even those are placeholders. Zendaya specifically is the heart of the film. She is part of what makes the movie as good as it is. All the other Dune nominations are NOT placeholders. Dune: Part Two will very likely make my Top 10 list at the end of the year.

That would be so nice if Dune could win some Oscars.

I see Ian Bliss is your SA win. I always really liked that guy in the Matrix sequels as Real World Agent Smith. He's just doing an impression I guess, but a damn good one. Then I never saw or heard about him again.

Then I never saw or heard about him again. I had to look him up when I got home and saw he was in The Matrix movies. I re-watched one of his scenes yesterday, because I didn't remember who he played. Yeah, his impression of Hugo Weaving's performance is impressive. He plays the skeptic magician character in Late Night with the Devil.

Rufus Sewell as Prince Andrew in Scoop Almost thought that's the real Prince Andrew. Yeah, they did a real good make-up job with him.

Cailee Spaeny as Jessie in Civil War What’d you think of Civil War? Seems you liked it. My uncle saw it and said he hated it and almost walked out a few times. I think it looks great, so that surprised me.
