Nope. No dairy, eggs, meat, or anything that's animal-derived... Not even honey. There are also some who take it further & won't eat yeast because it's considered a live organism.

I'm already a pescatarian (falls under vegetarianism, except they still eat fish), & if I were forced to become a vegan, I wouldn't last a day.

Me neither. I do need meat as well, if not totally red meat, then at least chicken. Also, could not stand not eating cheese and drinking milk and using cream in sauces.

I lasted for about 3 weeks and couldn't handle it anymore lol

Vegetarianism & all its "branches" aren't for everybody. That's why so many people tend to revert back to eating meat so early into it. I mainly follow it for health reasons, as well as ethical. I noticed that when I stopped eating red meat, my stomach issues started to ebb. I'm over 21 years in, & it's going fine for me. However, the last thing I've ever tried to do is convert people to eating meat-free. I tend to educate if people ask me about it, but that's as far as it goes for me. If they want to try the lifestyle for themselves, then I'll offer them advice if they ask for it, but that's it. I also tell them what to expect, such as certain foods that they need to give up (gelatin is a big one). When I tell them that, it's usually up to them if they want to try it or not. But again, that's only if I'm asked. I could care less what people eat &/or do w/ themselves in their own time.

Yeah, I do would like to try different ones, so do you have any suggestions as to how to successfully eat less meat? What kind of substitutes do you have in mind? I am currently trying to quit excessive sugar and just finished reading Good, sugar, bad Sugar by Allen Carr.

Some people go cold turkey & drop meat altogether, however, I weaned myself off of it when I got started. Poultry was the last thing I let go of. It all depends on the person, as well as circumstances.
There are plenty of alternatives out there... tofu, seiten, tempeh (all soy-based)... I haven't tried the last two myself, but from what I've heard, they're hearty & filling. Also, if you're a fan of mushrooms, you can substitute those in as well.

Are vegans allowed to eat dairy products like ice cream? There are plenty of good dairy substitutes for vegans out there now... For milk, there is soya, almond, hazelnut, rice, oat, etc... (for coffee I recommend hazelnut milk, oat for tea, cereals, etc)... Some of the vegan cheeses are really tasty now... put vegan mozzarella on a pizza, it's hard to tell the difference... The same with meat substitutes, these have come on leaps and bounds in both taste and texture... if you like chicken, burgers, sausages, the vegan Quorn range is a good place to start... As somebody already pointed out, mushrooms make a great substitute for meat in any dish, branch out from standard field mushrooms and try the wild varieties increasingly available in shops these days... Falafels are also great in stews, curries, etc.
