The second movie from wrestler John Cena. From the director of "Die Hard 2" and "Cliffhanger". I've never seen it, but I know it's basically a copycat of "Die Hard with a Vengeance" - Our hero going through various puzzles, bad guy seeking revenge, black sidekick, etc. But the movie did help make Cena become more of a star in movies and move upward. Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: 12 Rounds (2009) - 2.5 out of 4 stars"Utterly preposterous but enjoyably fast-paced thriller finds World Wrestling Entertainment star Cena cast as a hard-charging New Orleans cop forced into a series of beat-the-clock, life-or-death challenges by a vengeful arms dealer (Gillen) who has kidnapped the cop's sweetheart (Scott). Director Harlin keeps pedal to the metal throughout, so that nothing--not even Cena's obvious limitations as an actor--ever decelerates the high-velocity spectacle. Clever use of N.O. locations (many still bearing marks of 2005's Hurricane Katrina) is a plus. Followed by a direct-to-DVD sequel. Super 35."

Yeah I watched it once with my dad and brother back in 2012 and remember thinking it was a lame rip off of Die Hard with a Vengeance.

Jeez, "the director of Die Hard 2" is what we're calling Renny Harlin these days?
