Contact is a top 50, maybe top 25 movie for me. I don't think I'd stop to watch Twister if I came across it on tv.

I’ve watched Twister multiple times, definitely a guilty pleasure. Only watched Contact once, and it was years ago, but I remember not liking it.

An intelligent but kinda vanilla and forgettable 90s summer flick vs an incredibly stupid but charming and entertaining one. Twister was always a childhood favorite of mine. Philip Seymour Hoffman as Dusty alone would give it the edge, but the whole cast is pretty fun.

I prefer Contact. Twister was a fun popcorn blockbuster that is thoroughly rewatchable with special effects that hold up really well. Contact has a little bit of intelligence in its script that challenges its audience, which I can appreciate.
